Destiny Green continued her hot shooting by scoring a team-high 14 points as the Lady Eagles traveled to Macon, Georgia, to battle Wesleyan College. Trinity played well against the NCAA Division 3 opponent, but Wesleyan came out on top 77-43.
Green was 6 for 19 from the field, including a three-point shot, plus a free throw to compile her 14-point total. She also led all players with 17 rebounds while blocking eight Wesleyan shots.
Natalia Lopez followed Green with nine points and nine rebounds while assisting three scores and stealing three balls away from the Weslyean attack. Meagan Gooden and Diamond Alford each scored seven in the effort, and Faithe DeVaughn contributed six. New Eagle Tabitha Major pulled in three rebounds for her team.
Wesleyan got a game-high 28 points from Alexis Russell while Taylor Hauser and T.K. Blount each scored 18. Three teammates contributes points in the win for Wesleyan College.
Trinity will play its next two games at home, both within the South Region. On Friday, the Eagles host Trinity College of Florida at 2:00 p.m. EST, and on Saturday, the Lady Eagles tip off a women’s/men’s double header with Piedmont International University. The women’s game begins at 2:00 p.m., and the gentlemen follow at 4:00.
