Destiny Green led all scorers with 18 points and 18 rebounds as the Trinity Baptist College Lady Eagles traveled to Pensacola Christian College for a South Region game with their namesake of the Western Florida Panhandle. Pensacola won it 69-37.

Green was 8 for 17 from the field (47%) and added two free throws in compiling her game-high point total. She split her rebounds evenly between offense and defense while also blocking four Pensacola shots and stealing five possessions away from the Pensacola attack.

Avianna Phillips scored nine points for Trinity, all coming from three-point shots, for the team’s second-highest total.

Phillips also had five rebounds, an assist, and two steals.

Megan Gooden contributed five points in the Eagles’ effort while Diamond Alford scored two and Shaina Hill, Faithe DeVaughn, and Natalia Lopez each added a free throw.

Jessica Boyd led Pensacola with 15 points, and Joy Smith and Emma Hardy each followed with eight. Jenna DeLoach was next with six, and 10 other Pensacola players contributed points.

Pensacola will visit Trinity on Tuesday, February 13, as part of a women’s/men’s double-header that tips off at 5:00 p.m. EST. The gentlemen follow at 7:00 p.m. Both Trinity teams, though, will first play at South Region opponent Trinity College of Florida on Tuesday, February 6.
