Destiny Green was the game’s leading scorer and rebounder, and new Eagle Faithe DeVaughn hit double digits in her first full game as the Trinity Baptist College Eagles played the Bruins of Bob Jones University Saturday afternoon in Greenville, South Carolina. Trinity made a valiant comeback effort, but Bob Jones pulled away at the end on route to a 69-47 win.
Green scored a game-high 21 points and pulled in eight rebounds. She was a major force in the second-half surge that saw the Eagles cut a 22-point lead down to 12 midway through the fourth quarter. DeVaughn, who joined the roster just in time to help the Eagles win on Friday night, scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds in her first start and second overall game this season.
DeVaughn hit a clutch three-pointer in Friday night’s win at Toccoa Falls College and sank two more threes Saturday at Bob Jones.
Megan Gooden also hit two three-point shots as part of her eight total points. Diamond Alford had six points and six rebounds, and Natalia Lopez scored two and tied for second on the court with seven rebounds. Tabitha Major made her season debut and picked up a rebound and an assist in 14 minutes of work.
Bob Jones had three players top the 10-point mark: Sha’Ron Brunson (13), Faith Hart (11), and Sydney Bedsau (10). Kylee Lefew was next with nine, and six more Bruins contributed points in the win. The Bruins were consistent throughout the game, shooting 44% and 46% in each half, respectively.

On Friday, the Lady Eagles host Trinity College of Florida at 2:00 p.m. EST. Both the men and the women will play Piedmont International University on Saturday.
