Women: Trinity 1, Florida College 1

Kristin Pabon scored the game-tying goal with one minute left on the clock to avoid defeat and earn a tie for the Trinity Baptist College Lady Eagles at Florida College Tuesday evening.

Pabon scored on a pass from Alexa Goodwin and slapped it into the net to bring the Eagles even with the FC Falcons of the NAIA’s Southern States Conference.

Kristin Pabon tied the game with one minute left.

Neither team could score in two overtime periods, so the game ended in a tie.

Florida College scored just past the midway point of the first half on Sandra Rico‘s goal that gave the Falcons a 1-0 lead. Trinity had far more offensive ball control throughout the entire game, but the Falcons’ defense held tough in the backfield. Florida College led 8-5 in total shots, but each team had four shots on goal. Arianna Elliot took three of those four shots on goal for the Eagles.

Trinity’s defense allowed only one overtime shot from the Falcons.

Courtney Blanset saved three shots for Trinity as did FC’s goalkeeper Abigail Montanez.

Men: Florida College 4, Trinity 0

The men’s game saw the Falcons score twice in each half to win 4-0. Sorel St. Fleur (Minute 11) and Bernando Ortiz (Minute 38) each scored in the first half, and Ivan Rodriguez (Minute 62) and Lenny Vazquez (Minute 64) turned the trick in the second.

Kyle Aultman saved 5 of 9 Falcon shots on goal, and FC’s Austin McDaniel saved one.

Both the men and the women will play Florida College again. The gentlemen will host the Falcons on October 24, and the ladies will face the Falcons at Trinity on October 26. Both games kick off at 4:00 p.m. EDT on their respective days.

Before then, however, both Eagles teams will head to Greenville, South Carolina, this Saturday to take on South Region opponent Bob Jones University. The ladies kick off at 5:00 p.m., and the men will follow at 7:00.
