Men’s soccer coach Elie Jean is building a championship-caliber team, and it appears that the Eagles, who played in the championship game last year, could secure another national title, possibly in 2018. Coach Jean has added an All-County player from South Florida to help in that effort.
Rogeni Decaster — Lake Worth, FL
Rogeni is a 2018 graduate of Trinity Christian Academy in Lake Worth. He played varsity soccer for two years under the direction of Coach Shawn McDonald. Rogeni is the son of Ms. Geraldine Calmero and Mr. Roland Decaster.
While at Trinity Christian, Rogeni earned All-Star honors by making the All-County team as both a junior and a senior. He also helped lead the TCA Warriors to the 2016/17 Class 1A, District 11 title while making First Team All-County, and he made Second Team All-County a year later as a senior.
Rogeni finished his 2016/17 junior season with 18 Goals in 23 games and then scored 13 goals in 15 games in 2017/18 as a senior. He scored at least one goal in each district playoff game in which he played. Rogeni also excelled in track and field for Trinity Christian of Lake Worth.
Rogeni chose Trinity Baptist College for its Spiritual emphasis, which he claims will help make him a better disciple for Christ. “I chose Trinity because when I visited the campus, it felt like home,” he proclaimed. “I can see that there are people there who can help me make my relationship with Jesus better.”
After college, Rogeni desires to play soccer professionally while helping poor people in Curacao or wherever God leads him. He added, “I want to have a great Christian family. If I don’t accomplish that goal [of playing professionally], I want to be in sports management and have a great Christian wife.”
Rogeni’s life verse is Philippians 4:13, which says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
The Eagles welcome Rogeni Decaster to the roster and the TBC community.
