TBC Eagles Men’s Basketball just got a big boost by adding a high-scoring guard from Cheifland. Mr. Patrick Jackson has signed on as the newest Eagle, and he looks to fly high in the upcoming season.

Patrick J. Jackson, Jr. — Chiefland, FL

Patrick attended Chiefland High School, where he played varsity basketball for three years after transferring from Cedar Key High School following his freshman year. Patrick played for Coach Adam Boyd at Chiefland. He is the son of Cynthia and Patrick Jackson, Sr.

As a sophomore, Patrick helped the Indians win a district title, take a regional championship, and reach the Florida 1A state semifinal game. In each of his three years at Chiefland, he made the All-Area team.

Patrick had an amazing senior year at Cheifland as he averaged 20 points, 2.1 assists, and 8.2 rebounds per game. He scored over 1100 points during his three seasons at Chiefland, an average of over 370 points per season.

Patrick also played AAU ball for the Gainesville Basketball Club for two years.

Patrick chose Trinity Baptist College for a variety of reasons, but he highlighted TBC’s intimate atmosphere as his #1 reason. “The reason I choose Trinity was how I felt as soon as I got there,” he said. “It felt like the perfect place for me; it was a small school, and it felt very tight. Everyone knows each other, and I can get that one-on-one help in the classroom.

Patrick also cited Trinity’s church/chapel services as a main draw: “I also liked the church service while I was there. I feel like I can grow as a Christian, a student, and an athlete at Trinity.”  He continued: “Besides coming to play basketball, I’m looking forward to going to church and meeting the team and bonding on and off the court.

Patrick plans to major in business. His career plans after college include playing professional basketball and using his business degree to orchestrate camps for youth and underprivileged children. “I want to teach them what I’ve learned. I would like to also have somewhere youth can play anytime,” — a very noble goal indeed.

Patrick’s life verse is Philippians 4:13, which says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.

Please welcome Patrick Jackson to Trinity Baptist College.
