The 2018 recruiting season has begun, and TBC Eagles men’s basketball coach John D. Jones has signed his first player for the upcoming year. Coach Jones found local talent in a 6’8″ player named Jordon Jantzen. Jordan will join a roster that returns all but one player from the past season as the Eagles continue to build a winner.

Jordon Lee Jantzen — Jacksonville, FL

Jordon is a 2018 graduate of First Coast High School in Jacksonville, Florida. He transferred as a senior in 2017 after three years at Jacksonville’s Terry Parker High School, where he played baseball as a freshman, sophomore, and junior. Realizing that his athletic talents also include basketball, the 6’8″ senior joined the varsity basketball team under the leadership of Coach LaTroy Strong.

Jordan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sean and Kelly Jantzen. He made the Florida Class 8A, District 3 All-District roster while averaging 10.4 points and 8 rebounds per game for the First Coast Buccaneers.

Jordon chose Trinity Baptist College for more than just a chance to play basketball for a growing program. He also believes the college is just the right fit for him personally and Spiritually. “What I look forward to most at Trinity is growing more as a young man and gaining more [Spiritual growth] with the Lord,” he proclaims.

After college, Jordan plans to scout talent for a basketball or a football team. His life verse is John 3:16, which says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The Eagles welcome the first basketball player of the new recruiting season, Jordan Jantzen, to the TBC community.
