Fresh off of having reached the championship game of the 2017 NCCAA South Regional, TBC Eagles head baseball coach Jon Copeland was excited to announce the first group in the Eagles Baseball recruiting class of 2017, the fourth recruiting class in the program’s short, accomplished history.

The first very talented group includes the following:

Nick Mackedon– INF/RHP, The First Academy, Orlando, FL

Nick was an integral part of the Royals’ rolling to a 23-5 record and a District 4A-3 Championship before falling to eventual state champion, Calvary Christian, in the regional championship game this past season. Nick also plays for the BPA 18U Black travel ball squad.

Austin (Lane) Frye — 1B/RHP, Lake Region HS, Eagle Lake, FL

Lane helped the Thunder reach the 7A-District 7 playoffs before falling to Hillsborough. The big right-hander (6’3”) was a Polk County All-Star and a standout on the PTB Showcase circuit.

Joel Kuluga — INF, Indian Rocks Christian, Largo, FL

Joel was a key part of a Golden Eagles squad that cruised to a 20-9 record and the District 3A-District 5 championship before coming up short against eventual state champion, Canterbury, in the regional final. Joel was third on the team in hitting (.315), second in runs (20), and third in hits (23).
